Sol Ortega

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Sol has recently been one of the few names to emerge from Latin America to make a name for themselves around the whole world. Thanks to her unique sets located somewhere along the border of House and Techno she quickly gained traction in her native Argentina. Tasked with playing alongside international headline artists in Buenos Aires, she gained wide-spread recognition far beyond her own countries borders. Since then, various tours throughout Europe saw her play some of the most reputed venues on the continent. Despite the newfound success abroad, Sol sticks to her weapons of choice: A deep musical background, her almost jazz-like feeling for instruments and mixing, boxes over boxes full of Detroit-inspired vinyl and an occasional jam session straight from the bedroom. Her studio work is following a similar pattern as her career as a DJ - one step at a time and always keeping a steady pace. Early works saw releases on Rhythm Nation and Unitas Multiplex, while 2023 brought her first big outing on FJAAK's fresh outing Crowd. The bottom line of her productions goes hand in hand with Sol's DJ sets: Give them to a House DJ and it will work out fine, give them to a Techno DJ and it will work out just as fine. Surfing this thin line between complexity and simplicity is her great strength in both the studio and the booth.
