Egyptrixx
Egyptrixx is celestial club - jeep music for a Saturn desert. The aesthetic is pacific litter clank; chill torrents and artificial triumphalism...actual glow. The music is primitive, fixated mainly on texture and weight. Smudged facsimiles of club music; crude and abstract grooves. Cleansing drones lapse into fractured digital melody, toggling between shards of DX7 and hyper-color grandiosity - a strange cohesion of disparate objects as a new synchronicity. Crystal ammunition + liquid contemplation.

Egyptrixx is the experimental club music project of Toronto-based composer, record producer and sound artist David Psutka. Active since 2009, Egyptrixx has released music on various labels including Night Slugs and Last Gang Records. In 2015 Psutka launched the Halocline Trance label as a home for his various sound projects and collaborations. In addition to Egyptrixx, Psutka records and releases music with numerous projects such as Anamai, Ceramic TL and Limit. As a producer he has worked with a variety of artists such as Junior Boys, Jessy Lanza and Bestial Mouths. Stylistically, Psutka embraces subtractive techniques, textural sound, non-musical ideas and expressions of formlessness in much of his work. Many of Psutka’s releases have received critical acclaim from media outlets such as Pitchfork, Exclaim, The Quietus and Fact Mag; as performer he has toured extensively and played at Sonar, Roskilde Festival, Mutek, and CTM Festival; and has presented sound installations at various institutions.
