With his picture hanging in the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, and his handprints cemented in the Detroit Historical Museum’s “Legends Plaza”, Eddie Fowlkes Detroit Techno Originator. Over 38 years of djing and moving some of the deepest dancefloors and festivals across the globe, Eddie developed a unique sound, self-dubbed Techno Soul, which rests on a foundation of Detroit techno, funk, the Motown Sound, Parliament and Chicago House, forms the basis of unique DJ sets that reflect a rich personal catalogue of musical experiences both lived and created. It is this musical motif, honed on late night dancefloors, that carried over into and inspired his production efforts. Eddie’s 150+ deep catalogue dates back to 1986 and features releases on imprints such as Metroplex, Elektra, Detroit Wax, Sony, BMG, Warner Brothers, Azuli, Tresor, and P.I.A.S; he is a powerhouse both in the studio and behind the decks. A schedule of upcoming projects will be on his own label City Boy Music via EPM Music, London. He continues to create, push boundaries, and release music on his vinyl imprints Detroit Wax and City Boy Records, while charming dancefloors worldwide with his quintessential Detroit sound.
